PLAN OF SALVATION
Step 2
|
By faith, believe that Jesus
(Yeshua) is the Son of God, lived a sinless life, shed His blood on the cross
for your sins, and rose from the dead.
|
"For the life of the
flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for
the soul."
-- Leviticus 17:11
"For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life."
-- John 3:16
"While we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him."
-- Romans 5:8-9
"And he that doubteth is
damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of
faith is sin."
-- Romans 14:23
"For he [God] hath made
him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him."
-- II Corinthians 5:21
"Now the just shall live
by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in
him."
-- Hebrews 10:38
"Hereby know ye the
Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the
flesh is of God."
-- I John 4:2
|
Step 3
|
Confess your sins to God,
repent by turning away from your sins, and pray out loud to receive the
free gift of righteousness (indwelling of the Holy Spirit) unto eternal life
through Jesus Christ. By faith, you are forgiven of sins, justified in the
sight of God, and are conceived again. You are a new creation in Christ and
are to walk in newness of life.
|
"Wash me, and I shall be
whiter than snow."
-- Psalm 51:7
"Repent ye therefore, and
be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing
shall come from the presence of the Lord;"
-- Acts 3:19
"Therefore being
justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ:"
-- Romans 5:1
"Knowing this, that our
old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that
henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from
sin."
-- Romans 6:6-7
"For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation."
-- Romans 10:10
"Therefore if any man be
in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new."
-- II Corinthians 5:17
"In whom ye also trusted,
after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom
also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased
possession, unto the praise of his glory."
-- Ephesians 1:13-14
"That ye put off
concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to
the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye
put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness."
-- Ephesians 4:22-24
"Lie not one to another,
seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the
new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created
him:"
-- Colossians 3:9
|
Step 4
|
Get water baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ (Yeshua) as an obedient outward demonstration of your
repentance and faith in Christ.
|
"He that believeth and is
baptized [truly repentant] shall be saved; but he that believeth not
[emphasis not on baptism] shall be damned."
-- Mark 16:16
"And all the people that
heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism
of John."
-- Luke 7:29
"Can any man forbid
water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost
as well as we?"
-- Acts 10:47
"Know ye not, that so
many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ
was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life."
-- Romans 6:3-4
|
Step 5
|
Receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Ruach haKadosh in
Hebrew).
|
"For John truly baptized
with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days
hence."
-- Acts 1:5
"And when they had
prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they
were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with
boldness."
-- Acts 4:31
"Now when the apostles
which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they
sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for
them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon
none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then
laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost."
-- Acts 8:14-17
|
Step 6
|
Read your Bible so you may
become strong in His Spirit, grow in grace, renew your mind, and be
sanctified.
|
"I rejoice at thy word,
as one that findeth great spoil."
-- Psalm 119:162
"Sanctify them through
thy truth: thy word is truth."
-- John 17:17
"And be not conformed to
this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
-- Romans 12:2
"As newborn babes, desire
the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby."
-- I Peter 2:2
"Grow in grace, and in
the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
-- II Peter 3:18
|
Step 7
|
Pray always and fellowship
with like-minded believers.
|
"Watch ye therefore, and
pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that
shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
-- Luke 21:36
"Pray without
ceasing."
-- I Thessalonians 5:17
"Not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one
another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
-- Hebrews 10:25
|
Step 8
|
Patiently do good works in the
spirit of love.
|
"For the Son of man shall
come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward
every man according to his works."
-- Matthew 16:27
"But shewed first unto
them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and
then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works
meet for repentance."
-- Acts 26:20
"Who [God] will render to
every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well
doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life."
-- Romans 2:6-7
"And though I bestow all
my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have
not charity, it profiteth me nothing."
-- I Corinthians 13:3
"For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them."
-- Ephesians 2:10
"For as the body without
the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
-- James 2:26
"My little children, let
us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."
-- I John 3:18
|
Step 9
|
Obey, endure persecution, and
be faithful to Jesus (Yeshua) unto death.
|
|
"I will speak of thy
testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed."
-- Psalm 119:45
"And ye shall be hated of
all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be
saved."
-- Matthew 10:22
"For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who
hold the truth in unrighteousness."
-- Romans 1:18
"Therefore I endure all
things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which
is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."
-- II Timothy 2:10
"But Christ as a son over
his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the
rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end."
-- Hebrews 3:6
"And we desire that every
one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the
end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and
patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because
he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, 'Surely blessing I
will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.' And so, after he had
patiently endured, he obtained the promise."
-- Hebrews 6:11-16
"Blessed is the man that
endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of
life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
-- James 1:12
"Be faithful unto death,
and I will give you a crown of life."
-- Revelation 2:10
